Below is the alternative way to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for students. This allows the confirmation to take place by phone instead of through the app.

  1. Go to aka.ms/mfasetup.
  2. Log in with your student account.
  3. Click in the notification ‘More information required’ on Next.
  4. Click in the notification ‘Start by getting the app’ on I want to set up a different method.
  5. Select in the pull-down menu at ‘Which method would you like to use?’ for Phone and click on Confirm.
  6. Change the country in the pull-down menu and enter your phone number, then click Next.
  7. You will receive a call. Answer the call and press # (hashtag) on your phone.
  8. Click on Done.
